Hi, I’m Carol – proofreader, copy editor, and founder of Writing Solutions. After more than two decades supporting senior teams as an executive and personal assistant, I decided it was time for something a little more personal (and with fewer spreadsheets). My background taught me the value of calm focus, attention to detail, and helping others communicate clearly – all skills I use every day in my work now.

I trained in proofreading and copy editing with the College of Media and Publishing, but my love for words goes beyond ticking technical boxes. I care about accuracy and consistency, and I always put the reader first. Clients tell me they appreciate my relaxed, reliable approach – and my knack for making even tricky edits feel simple.

Writing Solutions is my way of helping people find their authentic voice – without fuss or drama. Whether I’m untangling a tricky sentence or adding a dash of gentle humour, I like to keep things approachable and clear. Every project, big or small, gets the same calm attention (and maybe the occasional cup of tea).

Based in the UK, I work remotely with people near and far who want practical support to make their writing clearer and more effective. If you need a fresh set of eyes (with a soft spot for Oxford commas), I’m here to help.

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me being taken for a walk by my ex-rescue cocker spaniel. Exploring forest trails and coastal paths together helps me reset and come back to my desk with fresh eyes (and, hopefully, less mud).
